Production of the new Skoda Kodiaq SUV launched in January begins

Skoda Auto India on Tuesday announced that the production of the new Kodiaq SUV has started at the Aurangabad manufacturing plant in Maharashtra. The updated Kodiaq 7-seater SUV gets many improvements in terms of design and aerodynamics. Many features have been included in this SUV in the exterior and interior. Skoda Kodiaq was first introduced globally and in the country in 2017. Kodiaq will rejoin Skoda’s India range after being discontinued in India in April last year due to BS-VI norms.

The Czech car brand will launch the new Kodiaq SUV in the country in January next year, hoping to repeat the success of the Kushak SUV that was launched earlier this year. The facelift model is based on the carmaker’s internationally acclaimed MQB platform. Because of this, its safety, driving dynamics, comfort, and technology are expected to be excellent.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq SUV Trim and Variants

The new Kodiaq SUV has already been introduced in the global markets. A powerful TSI petrol engine is available in its top-spec RS variant. The model is available in Active, Ambition, and Style trim levels as well as L&K, Sportline, and RS variants. However, it is not yet confirmed whether the RS version of the new Kodiaq will be launched in India as well.

Skoda Kodiaq SUV engine and power

The new 2022 Skoda Kodiaq SUV will come with a new 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine. This engine will generate 190 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. A 7-speed DSG gearbox will be available with this engine. It will be available with AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system which will be standard across the model lineup. There will be no diesel engine option with this car.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq SUV Features

The SUV gets the option of electrically adjustable leather ergonomics seats as well as new seat designs. Most of the features available in it are those of the current model. The new 2022 Skoda Kodiaq comes with the brand’s 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, 10-speaker Canton sound system, automatic climate control, and ambient lighting. The existing 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system could be replaced with a larger 9.2-inch unit, which is offered on the global-spec model.
