Simple Energy has launched the first electric scooter in India. The subsidy given by the government can also be availed of this scooter. Simple Energy’s electric scooter Simple One has become the scooter with the highest driving range in the country.
Simple One Price in India
The Simple One scooter with great looks and the powerful electric motor starts at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
The company has started booking for its flagship electric scooter on its official website for a token amount of Rs 1,947. The booking amount is refundable (The company will refund the full amount to thse customer on cancellation of booking). Customers who pre-order will be given priority in delivery once the scooter starts production. The company said that the amount of Rs 1947 for pre-booking has been chosen to dedicate the year of Independence.
Simple One Battery
The electric scooter from Simple Energy will get a 4.8 kWh portable lithium-ion battery pack. This portable battery pack is gray in color and weighs more than 6 kg. This battery pack is specially made for Indian customers. This battery can be easily taken home for charging. The company claims that the Simple Loop Charger can charge an electric scooter enough to cover a distance of 2.5 km in 60 seconds. The company has said that the work of setting up the charging infrastructure will start soon after the launch of Simple One. The company will also install more than 300 public fast chargers across the country in the next three to seven months.
Simple One Range and Speed
The Simple One e-scooter can cover a distance of 203kms in Eco mode and 236kms in Indian Drive Cycle (IDC) conditions on a single full charge. Its top speed is 105kmph. The Simple One scooter can accelerate from 0 to 50kmph in just 3.6 seconds and accelerates from 0 to 40kmph in 2.95 seconds. The scooter has a power output of 4.5 KW and a torque of 72 Nm.
Simple One Features
This electric scooter will sport a futuristic design and will be based on a mid-drive motor. It will come with a 30-liter boot capacity, 12-inch wheels, a 7-inch customized digital dashboard, onboard navigation, geo-fencing, SOS messages, document storage, tire pressure monitoring system, and Bluetooth connectivity. The Simple One e-scooter will be available in four color options – Red, White, Black, and Blue.
The company claims that the Simple One electric scooter will increase the competition in the Indian premium e-scooter segment. It will give tough competition to electric scooters from Ather, Hero Electric, Okinawa, and Ola in India.
The Simple One electric scooter will be made available in 13 states across the country including Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat. Simple Energy has said that it has shortlisted locations for Experience Centers in cities in these states so that it can be expanded soon. The company plans to invest over Rs 350 crore in the next two years to expand its presence across the country. The first phase of the factory is spread over 2 lakh square feet and will have a production capacity of up to 1 million (10 Lakh) units annually. The company will also provide at least 1,000 jobs initially. Which will give a boost to the Make in India initiative.
