Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire EV company To Launch More Affordable Electric Bike

Harley-Davidson is planning to introduce many more electric bikes under its premium electric vehicle brand LiveWire. If international media reports are to be believed, the company will introduce the S2 Del Mar, the brother of the LiveWire One, in the next few years. It will be built on the company’s new proprietary scalable modular Arrow platform. The new platform has been positioned as a cheddar-friendly addition to the middleweight segment. And in the future, many more models will be launched using this platform.

After the middleweight Livewire S2 model, Harley will bring more bikes on the same platform. LiveWire will be a lightweight series of S3 models and a heavyweight series of LiveWire S4 models. Needless to say, the H-D LiveWire One will also continue to be the premium model of the brand.

The new Arrow platform will bypass the battery-stored-in-frame function of the existing LiveWire One as it has been seen to put more stress on the battery. Similar to what is seen in the KTM SuperDuke R, BMW Motorrad’s R1100RS, or the Ducati lineup. The new platform will have a motor, battery, inverter, and onboard charger that can be used in various configurations.

The S2 will appeal to the middle segment of the audience and thus will not offer the tremendous motor performance of the LiveWire One. The new electric model from the renowned motorcycle maker will also be launched in the Indian market after its international presence. More details about this are expected to be revealed in the near future.
