There has been a steady increase in the demand for electric two-wheelers (E-Scooters) in India for some time now. On the other hand, new and old automobile companies are also engaged in full swing to meet this demand. From Bajaj Auto to Ola, many two-wheeler makers have entered the electric space. Also, many new electric scooters are seen ready to be launched in the coming days. In view of this, today we are going to tell about those electric scooters which are going to be launched in India soon.
The company has already introduced Simple Energy to the company’s Simple One. But, its delivery has not started yet. The company is going to start the delivery of these e-scooters from June 2022 this year. However, the company has disclosed the price of this electric scooter. This e-scooter will be sold without subsidy for Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom). At the same time, this scooter can be pre-booked from the company’s site for Rs 1,947. The company claims that this e-scooter will get 236km range, top speed of 105kmph and 0-40kmph in 2.95seconds.
Apart from this, the company has recently announced that it is going to make available an upgraded variant for its customers, which will cost Rs 1.45 lakh and will come with an additional battery pack. It will get a range of 300 km.
Okinawa Okhi 90
Okinawa Okhi 90 will be a premium electric scooter that will be introduced in India on 24th March this month. Before the launch of this scooter, many leaks and information have come to the fore. It is being said about Okhi 90 that it will get a range of up to 200KM. At the same time, recently the company teased this e-scooter.
According to the leaked news, this e-scooter will be equipped with many new features. It will come with a fast-charging battery that will charge from 0 to 100 percent in about 3-4 hours. Apart from this, it will get connected features like LED lighting setup, a digital instrument console equipped with Bluetooth, onboard eSIM, geo-fencing, navigation, diagnostics, and riding modes.
Honda Activa E
One of the popular and longest-lasting scooters, the Honda Activa will also get an electric version. Sometime back Honda has confirmed that it is working on the Honda Activa E which will be equipped with swappable battery technology like the Bounce Infinity E1 e-scooter.
Users will be able to replace the discharged battery with one charged at the swap stations and also charge the battery at home. There is no information about the Activa E range, top speed, and charge time yet. However, the company has confirmed that the electric scooter will launch in India in 2023-24 next year.
Yamaha Neo e-scooters
Yamaha has now entered the EV space with the scooter brand Neo. Recently, the company showcased two new electric scooters Yahama Neo and E01. At the same time, on Friday, the company has introduced Yamaha Neo E-Scooter in the European market. This electric scooter has been introduced for EUR 3,005 (Rs 2.52 lakh). It is expected that the company can introduce them in India. However, no official information has been revealed about this.
The e-scooter runs on a brushless DC hub motor that produces 2.06kW in STD mode. Its top speed is limited to 40kmph. Eco mode, on the other hand, reduces peak output to 1.58kW and limits top speed to 35kmph. The claimed range is 38.5 km and by using an optional secondary battery pack, the total range can be increased to around 68 km. It takes around 8 hours to get fully charged using a home charging point.
Piaggio has also officially confirmed that the company is working in the EV space. Currently, Piaggio makes three-wheeled vehicles in India. However, the Vespa and Aprilia brands also manufacture two-wheeler vehicles in the country. The company had told a media website that it wants to introduce an electric scooter in India under the Vespa brand.
Currently, Vespa sells electric scooters in the European market. According to leaked reports, it is expected that the company will introduce the Vespa brand electric scooter in India before the end of 2023.
LML has launched its new unit LML Electric and is now going to make a strong entry into the Indian EV market. For its EV business, the company has partnered with two-wheeler manufacturing company Saera Electric Auto. Under this partnership, LML’s electric scooters will be manufactured at its plant in Haryana.

Vida will launch its first electric two-wheeler in India by the end of this month or next month.
