Samsung India Came Forward To Help, Donated 20 Crores To Governments

For the past few weeks, the team of Samsung India has been working closely with various governments, local bodies and healthcare professionals to create a detailed and meaningful strategy for the war against covid-19. We have announced to support local administration and community in Noida by improving hospitals with essential medical equipment in the campaign against the epidemic.

As part of its continuous efforts to cooperate in the war against covid-19, Samsung has today committed to providing assistance of Rs 20 crore to the Central and State Governments in India. Samsung will provide Rs 15 crore in PM Cares fund and Rs 5 crore to the state governments of Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu to help the country in the challenge of the epidemic.

Apart from this, Samsung employees across India are also making their personal contribution. The company will contribute an equal amount to its employees and the total amount will be donated to the PM Cares Fund in the coming weeks. All these new measures are in addition to Samsung’s support to the local administration and community in Noida, where the company has made the medical equipment available to hospitals to fight the epidemic.

So far, Samsung has provided thousands of protective masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) kits to hospitals. The PPE kit is an important protective health care device and each kit includes a surgeon gown, face mask, gloves, protective eye glasses, hood cap, and shoe cover.

We are also supporting officers in hospitals and other facilities by providing a large number of infrared thermometers and public address systems. In addition, air purifiers, which are important for improving air quality in medical facilities, are also being made available.

In the past few weeks, Samsung has accelerated the supply of digital X-ray and digital ultrasound machines in government hospitals as part of its Samsung Smart Healthcare Citizenship program. As part of the program, Samsung also trains technicians on how to use these machines.

The equipment has recently been supplied to a hospital in Noida, which has been designated as the Kovid-19 treatment for the region. Samsung digital X-ray and digital ultrasound machines will soon help in detecting the disease.

In Noida, Samsung is also helping local administration and local police to provide food to the needy people of the local society every day. In Samsung, our commitment is to stand firm with the country in this difficult time.

As part of our efforts to enable people to help the country in this difficult time, we have updated our Samsung Pay platform to facilitate easy donations to the PM Cares Fund. Consumers can directly contribute to the PM Cares Fund by clicking on the PM Cares Fund option on Samsung Pay.
