Triumph Motorcycle has launched its new Tiger 850 Sport motorcycle in India. The new Tiger motorcycle will be an entry-level model in the Tiger range of Triumph’s adventure bikes. It will replace the current base model Tiger 900 XR trim. The company has fixed the ex-showroom price of the new Tiger 850 Sport in India at Rs 11,95,000.
Triumph Tiger 850 Sport Platform
The new Triumph Tiger 850 Sport gets the company’s famous 900 cc triple engine platform. This engine has also been used in the Tiger 900 range model. Triumph states that the new Tiger motorcycle offers ‘high-spec equipment and technology’, developed specifically for riders who desire more manageable performance at a lower cost.
Triumph Tiger 850 New Engine
This motorcycle gets an 888 CC, inline 3-cylinder engine which is used in the Tiger 900 range bike. This new engine generates a maximum power of 84 bhp at 8,500 rpm and torque of 82 Nm at 8,500 rpm. This bike gets a 6-speed manual transmission and slips and assists clutch technology. Triumph claims that the powertrain functions at low rpm due to its 1-3-2 firing order of T-plane cranks.
Triumph Tiger 850 Features
The new Tiger gets modern features like all-LED lighting, two riding modes – Rain and Road, 5-inch full-color TFT screen, and switchable traction control. It has been offered with a two-year unlimited mileage warranty, while it will have to be serviced at 16,000 km.
Triumph Tiger 850 Competition
The new bike Tiger made its global debut in November 2020 and was listed a month later on the company’s Indian website.
