MG Astor: MG Motor is preparing for a new SUV launch in India. This will be the company’s fourth SUV in India. In appearance, this SUV will be similar to the company’s ZS EV. The company has announced that the new SUV will be launched in India before the end of this year. The MG ZS petrol SUV has also been spotted several times during testing. The company can launch it under the name of MG Astor. MG Astor will be the fourth SUV after MG Hector, MG Gloster, and ZS EV. Some time back, pictures of its production-ready version were also revealed. The company also showcased this car at Auto Expo 2020.

MG Astor Dimension
The name MG Aster has already been trademarked in India. This will be a mid-size SUV of the company and it will compete strongly with Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The MG Aster will have a length of 4314 mm, which will be shorter than the MG Hector. The length of Hector is 4.6 meters. At the same time, its width will be 1809 mm and height will be 1644 mm. Its wheelbase will be 2585 mm. While the ground clearance will be 205 mm. At the same time, the cabin of this mid-size SUV will be updated as compared to the ZS EV, as well as a new design will also be available in it. Apart from this, it will get features like 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, wheel arch cladding, sunroof, roof-mounted spoiler with LED stop lamp.
MG Astor Features and Safety
A new front grille, sharper headlamps, restyled bumpers, and new LED taillamps will be available at the rear. Some new features will be available in the cabin and the dashboard will be slightly revised. It will get a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the ZS EV gets an 8.0-inch screen. At the same time, this infotainment system will support Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Navigation. At the same time, there will also be an option of a 360-degree camera in the display unit. The Aster will get a fully digital instrument console, which will also get information like a tire pressure monitoring system. There are also reports that the Aster will also get the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Apart from this, Active Drive Assistance feature, Autonomous Emergency Braking System, Blind Spot Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Front Collision Warning, and Hands-Free Auto Parking System will be available.
MG Astor Engine
MG ZS Petrol or Aster can be offered with two engine options 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine. Its 1.5-liter petrol engine will produce 120 bhp power and 150 Nm torque. On the other hand, the turbocharged petrol engine will produce 163 bhp power and 230 Nm torque. At the same time, both the engines will come with a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox.
