The Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus will be a stretched version of the standard model. The Plus variant will be around 400 to 410 mm longer than the Bolero Neo. It will no longer be a sub-4-meter vehicle like the standard Bolero Neo. Its length will be more than 4 meters. However, unlike the TUV300 Plus and TUV300, which were very similar in appearance, Mahindra will work to make the Bolero Neo Plus a bit different. Bolero Neo Plus will come with a sporty style apart from being tall in appearance. Bolero Neo Plus may be closer to the original Bolero model than the standard Bolero Neo in terms of looks.

The current model Mahindra Bolero Neo gets a 1.5-liter mHawk diesel engine. This engine generates power of 100 bhp and a peak torque of 160 Nm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Mahindra has not been given the option of an automatic gearbox with this SUV. Along with this, micro-hybrid technology has been used in this engine. The SUV can be started/stopped electronically.
Vijay Nakra, CEO, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra said, “We keep having this discussion on gasoline (petrol) automatic and diesel manual. We have found that automatic gasoline gets more votes obviously in the crossover sub-4-meter. But when we talk about mid-size crossovers, it is a good mix of diesel and gasoline – manual and automatic. When you turn to authentic frame-based SUVs, most of the demand is still there today. Diesel is around, so for now, we will stick with diesel on this platform. As we go forward, we will strategize on powertrain – given that Bolero is a product that is very important to our overall SUV strategy.”
