Kia Sonet SUV: Kia Motors India has launched its new sub-compact SUV car, the Kia Sonet SUV Car. It is a sub-4-meter car i.e. its length is less than 4 meters. Kia has launched the base variant HTE of Sonet in India with a starting price of Rs 6.71 lakh, while the top model GTX + is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh. Kia Sonet SUV is promising to make a mark in this segment due to its features and low price. Customers can pre-booking this car by visiting the official website of Kia or the company’s website by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000.
More than 25000 Bookings
During the launch event of the Kia Sonat SUV, the Korean carmaker said that it’s latest offering in India is getting around 1,000 bookings on average every day. Kia said that the pre-booking of Kia Sonet had started on August 20. People’s obsession with Sonnet can be gauged from the fact that more than 6,500 customers of Kia Sonet had booked it on the very first day of its pre-booking. And so far, bookings have crossed the 25,000 marks. Kia has an ambitious target of selling one lakh Kia Sonat SUVs in India and exporting 50,000 units in the first year itself.
Waiting Period Of The New Car Kia Sonet SUV
According to the report, Sonet delivery logistics indicate that a waiting period of 4-5 weeks to 8-9 weeks is running for this car depending on the variants. Petrol has the highest waiting period of 8-9 weeks for the 1.2l 5MT HTE variant. There is a 6-7 week waiting period for the Petrol 1.2 5MT HTK, 1.0T iMT HTK Plus, 1.0T 7DCT HTK Plus, Diesel 1.5 6MT HTK, and 1.5 6MT HTX Plus. The remaining variants are currently available with a waiting period of 4-5 weeks.
Kia Sonet SUV Price For Every Variant
The Kia Sonnet SUV price in India ex-showroom will start from Rs 6.71 lakh and the top variant has been priced at Rs 11.99 lakh.
The entry-level price of 6.71 lakhs will help Sonet to take an edge over its rivals like Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, and Tata Nexon. The price of all these starts from a little higher. The Maruti Vitara Brezza starts at Rs 7.34 lakh, the Mahindra XUV300 has priced at Rs 7.95 lakh and the Tata Nexon starts at a slightly higher price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh. These are all ex-showroom prices in Delhi.

The Kia Sonet SUV is the company’s third product in India after Kia Motors India’s popular SUV Seltos (Celtos) and the luxury MPV Carnival. Sonnet’s entry has been in the most competitive segment of the Indian car market, the sub-compact SUV and will compete with cars like Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV300 here.
Kia Motors will make the Sonet available in two trim concepts – the Tech Line trim and the GT Line trim – as previously seen with the Celtos. While the Tech line is slated for lower and mid-spec variants, the GT line will be offered in higher-spec variants. Apart from this, the car will be available with three dual-tone color themes with 8 color options. The Kia Sonnet will be available in 8 monotone colors. It includes Beige Gold, Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Gray, Steel Silver, Intelligence Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Clear White. Apart from this, Intense Red / Aurora Black Pearl, Beige Gold / Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl / Aurora Black Pearl will also be available in 3 dual-tone color options.
The Kia Sonet SUV has several segment-first features. That is, these features will be available only in Kia Sonet SUV in trains in this segment. It will include features such as a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera. The SUV will get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity. It has features like Bose 7 speaker system, electric sunroof, front ventilated seats, front parking sensors, smart pure air purifier with virus protection, Auto headlamps, etc. This car is equipped with 57 connected features, for which UVO connected technology will be available. Talking about safety features, safety devices like dual front airbags with ABS will be standard in the Kia Sonnet SUV.
Kia Sonet SUV will get Kia Signature Tiger Nose Grill, Heartbeat Tail Lamps, Halogen Headlamps, Muscular Front and Rear Skill Plates, Pole Type Antenna Standards. Kia Sonet’s GT Line trim will feature 16-inch crystal cut alloy wheels with red wheel caps. At the same time, 15-inch steel wheels have been given in the base variants. The variants above will come with 16-inch metallic silver steel wheels and one notch from the top with crystal cut alloy wheels in the lower variants, with silver wheel caps.
