iPhone SE 2020 Review: Should Apple Buy This Cheapest iPhone?
iPhone SE 2020 Review: Apple has launched the premium iPhone market for the first time in the budget category and this phone is iPhone SE 2020 which is an upgraded version of iPhone SE. Regarding the design of this phone, nothing has been changed compared to the old model, but there have been major changes regarding the processor, RAM, storage, and camera. The iPhone SE 2 uses the same processor A-13 Bionic given in the iPhone 11 series. The demand for the iPhone in the market has increased with the launching of the iPhone 11. The market is also hot on the iPhone SE 2020. iPhone SE 2020 is a budget iPhone but does it meet your needs too?
iPhone SE 2020 Price and Specification
First, let’s talk about the price. In terms of price, the iPhone SE 2020 has a direct competition with the OnePlus 8 Series. The initial price of iPhone SE 2020 in India is Rs 42,500 i.e. at this price 64 GB storage variant will be available, while 128 GB variant is priced at 47,800 and 256 GB storage variant is priced at Rs 58,300. We have used a 256 GB variant for the review. The iPhone SE (2020) is about 10, thousand rupees cheaper than the iPhone XR.
iPhone SE 2020 specification
Apple has given a 4.7-inch Retina HD display in this new iPhone SE 2 with support for HDR10 playback and Dolby Vision. Apart from this, Touch ID has been given in it. The iPhone SE 2 has the same A13 bionic processor that is in the iPhone 11 series. The new iPhone has a single rear camera setup which is 12 megapixels and its aperture is F / 1.8. You can also do 4K videography with the camera. For the selfie, it has a 7-megapixel front camera. Features like HDR and portrait will be available with the camera.
This phone is water and dustproof. For this, the new iPhone has a rating of IP 67. IP67 rating will not be found in any Android phone in this range. The iPhone SE 2 will be available in Black, White, and Red three color variants. The company has said that a strong battery has been given in the iPhone SE 2, although like this time, Apple has not given any information about the battery mAh.
The body of the phone is made of glass and aerospace-grade aluminum. The phone also has support for wireless charging. In iPhone SE 2, Apple has provided fast-charging up to 18W but has not provided a fast charger in the box with the phone. If you want, you can use Fast Charger for any company. The phone has support for dual SIM, one of which is SIM e-SIM. This phone will be available in 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB storage variants.
What is different in iPhone SE 2020?
Seeing this phone, one will be deceived that this new one is iPhone SE because its design largely matches the old model, but this phone is new in terms of processor camera and features. In addition to the A13 chipset in the iPhone SE2, you get iOS 13. Apart from this, the camera is better than before. Although the design of this phone is similar to the iPhone 7 and 8, there have been changes in the new iPhone regarding the camera. You will not get portrait mode in the front camera of iPhone 7 but in iPhone SE 2020 you will get portrait mode in the front camera like iPhone x series, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11 series. Apart from this, you also get wireless charging, fast charging, and dual sim support in the new iPhone.
iPhone SE 2020 design, display, hardware and software
There is no need to tell you anything special about the design of the iPhone SE. The phone is compact and handy. There is no problem with using the phone with one hand. You will miss the lack of notch in the display. In such a time when all the Android companies talk about the bezel-less display, at that time Apple has not paid attention to the bezel of the iPhone SE 2020.
The rear camera’s bulge is reduced compared to the iPhone XR, which is good. In such a situation, there is no risk of the rear camera lens being cracked when using the phone without cover, as in the iPhone XR. On the phone, you will see a lot of bezel in both the top and bottom places. There is no problem with color and brightness. Whether it is a sunny or dark night, the display works well.
You will not feel any difference in the sharpness of the display of the iPhone XR and iPhone SE 2020. In the photo below, you can see the difference. The power button and SIM card are given in the tray right and the silent button with the volume on the left. The speaker grill and charging port are at the bottom. Needless to say about build quality and finishing. As always with this phone, you will get the trust of Apple for years.
There is no need to say anything special about the hardware and software because the software in the phone is the same as the iPhone 11 series, only a slight change has been made in the camera hardware. One change we noticed in the iPhone SE 2020 is that with the power button you can also switch off the phone, which is not the case with the iPhone 11 or XR series.
iPhone SE 2020 Performance and Battery Life
As far as performance is concerned, there is no problem with the software and hardware as before, but due to the small display during gaming, the fun gets gritty, and anyway, this phone is not for the frequent video watching and gaming enthusiasts. is. While playing PUBG and Asphalt 9, we did not face any problem with the frame rate and did not have to face the problem of lagging. The phone did not heat up even after playing the game for about 20 minutes, which is a plus point, as most phone pubg-like games get slightly warmer after playing 15 minutes.
There is no problem with the graphics. Better sharpness and color are excellent. The audio is a bit low. Touch ID is fast and there is no problem in configuring fingerprints. As far as the battery is concerned, it takes more than 3 hours to fully charge the phone. Battery backup is less than that of the iPhone XR. If you watch a little video, play a game, you may have to charge the phone within 12-15 hours. The iPhone SE 2020 disappointed us in terms of battery.
iPhone SE 2020 Camera Performance
The phone has a single camera which is 12 megapixels with an aperture f / 1.8, while the front camera is 7 megapixels with an aperture f / 2.2. Night mode is not provided separately with both cameras like the iPhone 11 series. Apart from this, you will also find a lack of macro lens and telephoto lens on the phone, although nowadays most Android phones are getting a macro lens, personally, a macro lens in a smartphone is of no use to me.
With both lenses in the new iPhone, you will get portrait mode and a maximum of 60 frames per second will give you a chance for 4K videography. By default, the camera records 4K at 30 frames per second.
Despite having a single lens, the quality of the camera is good, but the iPhone SE 2020 camera has little noise compared to the iPhone XR. The detailing in closeup is amazing but zooming in the photo with the log shot shows a decrease in detailing. The quality of flashlight and portrait mode at night is worth the compliment.
The detailing and sharpness in the photo are excellent. Colors also come open. Like other iPhones, the camera of the iPhone SE 2020 also recognizes only humans. It takes a lot of effort to click the photo of an object, then the camera focuses. The phone warms up a bit when using the camera for a long time.
The camera speed is good. The detailing in portrait photos is excellent and the camera can easily find the gap in the background and subject. Subjects do not blur in portrait mode. The performance of Auto HDR is good. You also get the evergreen feature live photo on the iPhone SE2.
On turning it on, you will know what happened just before clicking a photo. Talking about the front camera, the front camera is fine but not great. There is a lack of detailing in the photo. The good thing is that you can adjust the blur even after clicking the photo in portrait mode from both the front and rear cameras.
So overall, the iPhone SE 2020 is a great phone. There is no problem with the performance, but if you are fond of big gaming, as well as you want a new design i.e., notch or dot notch or a notch-less and bezel-less phone then iPhone SE 2020 is not for you.
