“We identified suspicious activity in our WordPress hosting and immediately began an investigation with the help of an IT forensics firm and also contacted law enforcement,” GoDaddy said in a statement. We have also blocked illegal third-party access.

The e-mail IDs and mobile numbers of 1.2 million WordPress users have become public in this data leak. Leaked phone numbers and e-mails can be used in phishing attacks. The original admin password of WordPress has also been leaked in this breach. In such a situation, it is necessary for the customers to change their passwords immediately.
