After launching the successful ZenFone Max Pro M1 in India a while ago, Asus on Wednesday announced two more affordable smartphones that see their global launch in the country. The ZenFone Max M1 and ZenFone Lite L1 are budget offering from the company that slot below the ZenFone Max Pro M1. The devices highlight full-screen displays and Snapdragon chipset, among other things.
The Asus ZenFone Lite L1 has been priced at Rs 6,999, but will be available for Rs 5,999 as a festive introductory offer. The ZenFone Max M1 has been announced at Rs 8,999, but will also be available at an introductory price of Rs 7,499. Both the phones will be available exclusively on Flipkart in Black and Gold colours. The first sale will take place during the upcoming Flipkart Festive Dhamaka Sale. Asus also announced Jio cashback offer for consumers worth Rs 2,200 as well as 50GB of additional data.
Asus ZenFone Max M1, ZenFone Lite L1 specifications
Both the ZenFone models come with 5.45-inch HD+ (1440×720) IPS displays with an 18:9 aspect ratio, 400 nits brightness and 295 ppi. The phones are also powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset. The ZenFone Lite L1 will be offered with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while the ZenFone Max M1 will be available with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. Both the models will support storage expandability up to 256GB via microSD card. Both the phones support dual SIMs and a dedicated slot for microSD card.
The ZenFone Lite L1 comes with a 13-megapixel sensor on the back with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12 micron pixels, PDAF and LED flash support. On the front, the device gets a 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. The ZenFone Max M1 gets a similar 13-megapixel rear sensor, but it gets a slightly bigger 8-megapixel sensor on the front. Both the phone support camera modes like Beauty, Pro, Panorama, Time Lapse, HDR and Portrait.
There are some more differences between the two models such as a fingerprint sensor which is available only on the ZenFone Max M1. The ZenFone Lite L1 will only get face unlock as a biometric option. The Lite L1 gets a 3,000mAh battery while the Max M1 houses a bigger 4,000mAh. The former will ship with a 5W charger while the latter will ship with a 10W charger.
The ZenFone Max M1 and ZenFone Lite L1 ship with Android Oreo with ZenUI 5.0 on top. Asus says Zen UI is light and bloatware-free with very few pre-loaded apps like Facebook and Instagram. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS. The phones also come with Accelerometer, Proximity and Ambient light sensors.
